Ewan Story
Ewan crafts atmospheric studies of the built environment and rural horizons. Framing these scenes at night or in the liminal light of dusk, many of his compositions recall Edward Hopper, others Peter Doig.
Ewan is an emerging artist, but he has already exhibited in both regional and London galleries. He is currently enjoying going ‘back to school’, studying fine art (MA) at Falmouth University. A recurring theme of his practice is ‘threshold’: a point of transition, from one place or state to another.
London-born, Ewan had a long career in advertising as an art director, a writer and a creative director before he decided to concentrate exclusively on his contemporary art practice several years ago.
His postgraduate fine art studies at Falmouth are opening him up to new potential directions, collaborations and other possibilities; but it is likely that, at its core, his work will remain rooted in the slow, timeless beauty of the world. Ewan will always strive to reconnect us with our own lost moments and plangent memories. This love and longing lies at the very centre of his work.
