Overview

Sophie’s work is focused on simplicity, joy and harmony. She captures the simple joys in her life by painting the essence of a scene or group of objects.

Themes include seasonal fruit and flowers, collections of objects within the home, a morning spent at the beach or a stroll through a local Cornwall garden.

Her paintings are primarily driven by colour with an emphasis on the power colour has to evoke positive emotions. Sophie lives in far West Cornwall and works either in her small but compact studio at home or in a larger space a few minutes walk from the seafront in Penzance.
