Melissa Laurence is an Australian-born oil painter who moved to the UK with her family in 2019.
After a fulfilling career as an infant teacher, Melissa started painting as a way to find connection within her new country.
Melissa's floral paintings are based on her love of bold, vibrant colours and chasing glimmers (small magical moments that we can miss if we don’t pause). Melissa paints from her home studio in West Berkshire, where she also teaches art classes.
Biography
Melissa’s work reflects her love for flowers, colours, thick textured pieces and her love of bringing joy to others. She is heavily inspired by the textures of Van Gough’s work and the colours and rebellion of the artists from the Fauve movement.
