Martin Jones
Martin is a semi-retired civil engineer and artist based in the Cotswolds, with a lifelong desire to make art alongside an engineering career defined by design, structure and close observation.
His professional background began as a draughtsman in the 1970s and developed into work as a chartered civil engineering consultant and company director, with lead civil engineer roles on major projects including the Eden Project and the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
That experience continues to inform his paintings, bringing a designer’s eye for landscape, form and detail to work that has ranged from pastels, watercolours and scraperboard to his current focus on oils.
This recent collection was created in collaboration with the National Trust at Hidcote Manor, initially produced for greeting cards and subsequently developed into limited edition prints.
